Why Implants |
Replacing
teeth with implants has several advantages over traditional
methods:
- Looks, feels and functions like
a natural tooth
- The procedure does not require
adjacent teeth to be "cut back"
- The implant replaces the tooth
root which preserves the bone
- Prevents bone collapse providing
better long term aesthetics

 |
Single tooth |
| Implants
provide an excellent way both aesthetically and functionally
of closing the gap created by the loss of a single tooth. |
|
 |
 |
Large gaps |
| In
these cases too, implants provide and ideal alternative to
conventional methods. The implants serve as additional
supporting abutments for carrying a bridge. |
|
 |
 |
Toothless jaws |
| Implants
can be utilised in two ways if no teeth are left. Implants
are often used as rigid support for bar-borne removable
dentures which are light weight and completely stable.
Alternatively up to 12 implants can be placed, onto which is
attached a permanent bridge. |
